Job summary

Assystem is seeking a Principal Layout Integration Engineer in the UK to lead plant layout development across Fusion and Modular Nuclear programmes. You will provide technical leadership on layout integration, piping, building interfaces and modularisation while guiding multidisciplinary teams.

You will support complex studies, engineering governance and client engagement, ensuring safety, constructability and lifecycle requirements are met across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in plant layout, piping layout and multidisciplinary delivery.
• Experience leading complex studies and engineering decisions.
• Strong systems engineering, requirements and interface management.
• Clear ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver technical governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant layout development from concept to detailed design for complex facilities.
• Act as technical lead for buildings, systems and programme-level integration.
• Develop equipment, piping, cable tray, access and maintenance layouts.
• Lead routing studies and layout optimisation activities.
• Provide technical assurance and reviews of layout deliverables.
• Support bids, proposals and client engagement activities.
• Mentor engineers and support capability growth.
