Stantec is seeking a Principal Protection & Control Engineer to join our Energy Transition team in the UK. You will lead and deliver protection and control schemes for high‑voltage projects, including HVDC, interconnectors, wind farms, and substations, up to 400 kV.

You will work within a multidisciplinary group, drive safe, reliable electrical networks, and contribute to innovation, standardisation, and supplier engagement across major UK clients.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in Protection & Control design for distribution networks.
• Knowledge of protection relays, relay panels, CT/VT sizing, and protection studies.
• Experience producing AC/DC schematics and design documentation.
• Familiarity with UK standards and CDM regulations.
• Strong safety mindset with risk identification and mitigation.
• Experience with National Grid processes and standards is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Responsabilités

• Take projects from concept and FEED through to detailed design.
• Provide construction and energisation support.
• Work on systems up to 400kV and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Engage in innovation initiatives, standardisation, and supplier assessment.
• Support commissioning activities and design reviews.
