Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Principal P&C Design Engineer to join the Power T&D team across the UK. The role focuses on engineering control and protection designs for electrical substations up to 400kV and includes general, planning and procurement responsibilities for delivery of substation projects.

You will work with project managers, customers and suppliers to establish design content, coordinate resources, and ensure timely delivery while adhering to health, safety and

Qualifications

Education: HNC in Electrical Engineering or higher.
UK industry experience and preferably National Grid.
Overall design and specification of electrical power systems and related components.
Calculations to demonstrate integrity of designs.
Microsoft Office Packages.

Responsibilities

Engineer control and protection designs for substations up to 400kV.
Plan, procure and coordinate design resources to meet contract timescales.
Coordinate with Project Manager, customers and external suppliers early in contracts.
Prepare Installation and Commissioning packages as required.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental Procedures and CDM rules.
