Job summary

BakerHicks in Motherwell, Scotland, seeks a Principal OHL Engineer to establish and lead our OHL design capability in Scotland, delivering 132kV to 400kV transmission projects. Based in Motherwell, you will shape technical excellence and mentor engineers.

You will deliver detailed design, oversee quality and safety, support bid submissions and compliance, and help grow a new Scottish OHL team with hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s in Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering (or related).
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of detailed OHL design packages from concept through implementation.
• Provide technical oversight ensuring designs meet client, industry and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and mentor engineers, supporting technical growth.
• Produce and review calculations, specs, reports and design documentation.
• Deliver consultancy during feasibility and FEED stages, including client presentations.
