Job summary

BakerHicks in Motherwell, Scotland, seeks a Principal Overhead Line Engineer to establish and lead a new OHL design capability for 132kV to 400kV schemes. Based in our Motherwell office, you will shape technical excellence, mentor engineers and deliver transmission projects across the UK.

You will provide technical leadership across new-build and refurbishment OHL projects, ensure designs meet client and regulatory requirements, and support bid activities while building a high-performing

Qualifications

• Degree or MSc in Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards professional registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of detailed OHL design packages from concept through implementation.
• Provide technical oversight to meet client, industry and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and mentor engineers to support technical and professional growth.
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, reports and design documentation.
• Deliver consultancy services during feasibility and FEED stages with client presentations.
