Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Principal Line Design Engineer to join the Power T&D Division. The role involves leading the design delivery of Overhead Line projects up to 400kV, from tender to handover, across UK offices.

You will act as OHL Lead Designer, ensure design compliance with standards, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers and drive innovations and value engineering within the discipline.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Expert knowledge of UK/European design codes for Electricity Supply Industry.
• Experience as a Senior Design Engineer in OHL design and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the OHL design scope of works to programme, budget and quality.
• Identify and ensure design compliance with standards, legislation and contract specs.
• Review tender or contract documentation and establish the OHL scope of works.
• Ensure accuracy of designs, models and drawings with QA processes and Right First Time.
• Collaborate with designers from other disciplines and mentor junior staff.
