Balfour Beatty Power T&D is seeking a Principal Design Engineer - Highways to join the team in Derby or Motherwell. Lead the highways and access design for civil works across substations, OHL and cable routes, driving Safety by Design and design quality.

The role focuses on mentoring engineers, ensuring compliance with DMRB and client standards, and supporting bid development and project delivery within a dynamic infrastructure portfolio.

Qualifikationen

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with ICE or CIHT membership (or working towards).
• Proven highways design experience within energy, utilities or infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of DMRB and related standards.

Aufgaben

• Undertake design and co-ordination of civil and temporary works from feasibility to detail design, installation and removal.
• Ensure timely delivery and high-quality designs with reports, calculations and drawings compliant with Client and national standards (BS/Eurocodes/ENA).
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Assess and identify design and temporary works requirements on each project, driving Safety by Design.
• Lead highways and access design for PT&D projects, including substations, overhead lines and cable routes.
• Develop and review highway alignment, junction design, access roads and drainage.
