Job summary

MERITUS is recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our defence client on a 12-month contract from Stevenage. The role requires SC clearance and offers a chance to work on cutting-edge programmes within a collaborative team.

You will deliver mechanical design across complex products, work with multidisciplinary teams, and support production progression. Onsite four days per week with one remote day, challenging environment, and stringent regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Strong Creo 3D CAD design experience in complex engineering environments.
• Experience performing FMEA and risk assessments on products.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM/DFI principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design and development activities across complex products and assemblies.
• Support progression of development designs into production and collaborate with manufacturing teams.
• Contribute to successful delivery of challenging defence engineering programmes.
• Lead or participate in formal design reviews and engage with stakeholders.
