Job summary

MBDA is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to lead Manufacturing Engineering within the Industrial Transfer Team in Bolton. The role focuses on front-end activities from bids to delivery and involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

The position offers hybrid working (3–4 days on-site) with a strong emphasis on delivering robust manufacturing transfer programmes and reports. A proactive problem-solving approach and capability to interpret drawings are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have an Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 or TR23/TR21 and/or a higher education certificate (HNC) or degree in engineering.
• Proven knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proactive problem solving and ability to work to milestones.

Responsibilities

• Provide Manufacturing Engineering focus within the Industrial Transfer Team.
• Support bid generation for Manufacturing Industrial Transfer campaigns.
• Work with Industrial Transfer PM to generate robust bids for manufacturing.
• Identify support requirements to ensure a successful Industrial Transfer programme.
• Deliver Industrial Manufacturing Transfer Programmes per business and customer expectations.
• Interface with external stakeholders to ensure smooth transfer programmes.
• Define operating principles and procedures for Manufacturing Industrial Transfer.
• Write reports and assessments of current and future proposals.
