Job summary

Frankham Consultancy Group seeks a senior leader in Infrastructure Engineering to drive technical assurance, project performance, and strategic growth across rail, maritime, and related sectors. You will mentor engineers, oversee governance, and shape delivery across a broad portfolio with a focus on value, quality, and client satisfaction.

You will lead work-winning activity, manage risk and programmes, and ensure multidisciplinary design coordination aligns with CDM 2015 and Eurocodes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a civil/structural engineering role, ideally within Rail or Maritime infrastructure projects.
  • Experience leading projects and teams with financial management.
  • Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong commercial awareness (profit & loss, budgeting, contract management) desirable.
  • Experience checking and approving designs and calculations.
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary design.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software such as Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, S-frame 3D, Robot, SuperStress, Geo5, MIDAS, LUSAS.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership – provide high‑level technical oversight across the project lifecycle and guide defect remediation and robust solutions.
  • Work Winning – prepare high‑quality tenders and proposals, ensuring alignment with capacity and strategy.
  • Client Development – build trusted relationships and promote services for new opportunities.
  • Project Oversight – manage performance, budgets, programmes, milestones, and risk.
  • Resource Management – allocate and oversee multi‑discipline teams across projects.
  • Commercial Awareness – support pricing, billing, and project viability.
  • Quality & Governance – ensure compliance with QA/QC, governance, and CDM principles.
  • Compliance & Standards – meet UK design codes, Eurocodes, and institutional guidelines.
  • Mentorship & Development – guide developing engineers toward Chartered status.
  • Innovation & Improvement – drive knowledge sharing and use of digital tools.
  • Marketing – contribute to case studies, bid content, and submissions.
