Story Contracting Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to steer regional engineering teams, provide technical leadership and guide complex rail projects from design through to handback. The role emphasizes safety by design, quality assurance, and cross-disciplinary collaboration across the project lifecycle.

Formación

• A Civil Engineering qualification at degree, HNC/HND level or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional body, such as ICE or REI.
• Strong experience in UK rail contracting and multidisciplinary engineering delivery.
• Proven engineering management experience with understanding of rail legislation and regulations.
• Confident in leading, mentoring and developing technical teams.
• Clear communication and influencing skills with a collaborative approach.

Are you an experienced engineering leader ready to shape the safe and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects? We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our regional Engineering Team, provide expert technical guidance and influence our project teams to deliver with confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the regional Engineering Team, building capability and confidence across the region.
• Provide technical leadership, engineering assurance and practical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Proven engineering management experience, with comprehensive understanding of relevant rail legislation and regulations.
• Confidence leading, mentoring and developing technical teams.
• Clear communication and influencing skills, with a collaborative approach.

Desirable

• Experience as a CEM and/or CRE within the Network Rail Agile Client Eastern model.
• Experience delivering projects for non-rail clients, such as water, energy or environment.
