Kier Group is seeking a Principal Highways & Drainage Engineer to join Kier Design across multiple UK locations. You will lead complex temporary works design for highways and drainage, managing multidisciplinary teams from concept to delivery.

We expect Chartered status and proven senior experience, with a strong track record in client relationships and delivering sustainable infrastructure. This role offers agile working with 1-2 days from home and exposure to a diverse project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Chartered member of a relevant institution with extensive experience or demonstrable senior-level experience.
• Experience leading complex construction engineering services for highways and drainage.
• Ability to provide technical design management across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven ability to build strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Commitment to sustainable development and best practice in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of temporary works design for highways and drainage.
• Provide tender and bid support with outline designs and feasibility studies.
• Manage project leadership, including technical requirements and design deliverables.
• Act as a technical help desk for engineering excellence.
• Develop technical standards and design processes for consistent quality.
