Job summary

GHD is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our London team and lead complex projects across water, transport, energy and environmental sectors. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and build client relationships while delivering sustainable engineering solutions.

The role offers hybrid working arrangements and opportunities to influence infrastructure delivery across the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Geologist (CGeol) status, or close to achieving chartership.
• 10+ years' experience in consultancy, contractor, or client environments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from feasibility through construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and project direction across geotechnical projects.
• Lead planning, management and delivery of investigations, assessments and design.
• Manage programmes, resources, risks and financial performance.
• Support proposals, fee estimates and tender submissions; contribute to strategic growth.
• Mentor and develop junior staff and project teams.
