Job summary

Innovate Skillsource is seeking a Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer to lead multidisciplinary projects across contaminated land, remediation, groundwater and geotechnical work. You will own projects from planning through delivery, mentoring juniors and engaging clients.

The role combines technical leadership with stakeholder management, reporting, and business development within a flexible hybrid model including office, remote, and site-based activities across Northern Ireland.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Proven experience in contaminated land assessment and geo-environmental consultancy.
• Experience producing Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports and risk assessments.
• Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks and contaminated land guidance.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review Phase 1 and Phase 2 geo-environmental reports.
• Plan, manage, and supervise ground investigations.
• Oversee groundwater and ground gas monitoring activities.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, delivering clear findings.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to business development.
