Job summary

Abcam, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Principal Full Stack Engineer (Agentic AI) to accelerate the Agentic AI platform in Cambridge, on-site. You’ll design and lead delivery of AI platform and RAG workflows, mentor engineers, and set engineering standards.

You’ll work across cloud-based AI apps, focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance with TypeScript, Python, AWS, and modern CI/CD practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable

Qualifications

Strong software engineering in TypeScript; Python a plus.
Ability to design, deploy and operate production AI systems with focus on reliability and scalability.
Expertise in Agentic AI: RAG, prompt engineering, LLM integration, MCP, agentic workflows, model evaluation, fine tuning.
Cloud infrastructure deployment of AI apps (AWS preferred).
CI/CD practices including orchestration, containerisation and testing.
Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams to translate business problems into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Design and lead the delivery of Abcam's Agentic AI platform and applications, including RAG systems and agent workflows.
Establish engineering best practices for GenAI/LLM applications across the lifecycle.
Mentor engineers, influence architectural direction, and drive adoption of Agentic AI capabilities.
