Job summary

Abcam in Cambridge, on-site, seeks a Principal Full Stack Engineer (Agentic AI) to accelerate development of the Agentic AI platform and apps. You will architect solutions, mentor the team, and ensure reliable, scalable AI systems for internal and external users.

The role focuses on TypeScript (and Python), AWS deployment, and advanced AI workflows, with collaboration across product, data, and engineering teams to deliver impactful capabilities.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering in TypeScript with Python as a plus.
• Experience designing production AI systems focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Expertise in Agentic AI: RAG, prompts, LLM integration and workflows.
• Cloud deployment of AI apps on AWS and CI/CD best practices.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead architectural decisions.
• Collaborates across teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead delivery of Abcam’s Agentic AI platform and apps, including RAG systems and agent workflows.
• Establish engineering best practices for GenAI/LLM applications and ensure reliability and scalability.
• Act as technical leader to mentor engineers and drive adoption of Agentic AI capabilities.
