Job summary

Stirling Dynamics is recruiting a Principal FPGA Design and Development Engineer to lead FPGA work within the Software & Electronic Hardware team in a hybrid Bristol office setup.

You will own FPGA design across the lifecycle, from requirements capture through to certification evidence, working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safety-critical hardware and gateware for DO-254 projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in FPGA/airborne hardware development with DO-254.
• Proven capability to lead requirements-based design and verification.
• Strong documentation and design-review discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and verify FPGA solutions for safety-critical systems.
• Lead architectural definition and RTL design using VHDL.
• Develop traceable FPGA designs from system requirements to verification.
• Produce design artefacts and DO-254 evidence packages.
• Support DO-254 planning, reviews and configuration management.
