Job summary

Strata Consulting Limited is seeking a Principal / Associate Director in Flood Risk Engineering, with leadership over a growing team of flood risk engineers. The role focuses on delivering FRAs, hydraulic modelling and flood mitigation strategies within residential and commercial development contexts.

You will develop in-house flood modelling capability, set technical standards and mentor engineers, while coordinating with the wider civil infrastructure team across London/Hertfordshire offices.

Qualifications

• Experience in flood risk consultancy for residential and commercial development.
• Strong knowledge of Flood Risk Assessments and hydraulic modelling.
• Experience using TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS or equivalent.
• Understanding of planning policy, climate change allowances and flood mitigation.
• Experience managing projects, budgets and client relationships.
• Experience mentoring or supervising engineers.
• Ambition to develop and grow a specialist modelling team.
• Strong communication, reporting and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of FRAs, hydraulic modelling and flood mitigation strategies.
• Develop and expand in-house flood modelling capability.
• Establish technical standards, modelling procedures and best practice.
• Mentor a team of Flood Risk Engineers.
• Oversee project delivery, budgets, programmes and quality.
• Build strong client relationships and identify growth opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership on a range of development flood risk projects.
• Collaborate with wider civil infrastructure team.
