Job Description

My client, a well-respected, diverse Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is currently searching for a Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their team of expert engineers, based in the multicultural city of Manchester.

Essential Criteria:

1. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geography, Environmental Management, or a similar discipline
2. Extensive experience within drainage, flood risk, and flood mitigation, including experience with design guidance to align with regulated industry standards
3. Demonstrable experience in managing projects
4. Experience liaising with a range of public and private sector clients, and an acute commercial awareness
5. Good working knowledge of software packages, including MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, QGIS (and other GIS software), etc.

Beneficial Skills:

• Professional Body Chartership (or actively working to attain Chartered Status)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to prioritise well, with good time management abilities

In this role, you will join a team of well-respected experts, with extensive opportunities for career development through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Responsibilities include:

1. Managing projects from inception to completion
2. Preparing proposals and tenders, utilizing technical and commercial experience
3. Producing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Scoping Reports, and Drainage Strategies
4. Leading the team in conceptual drainage design, incorporating SuDS techniques, and producing drainage plans
5. Reviewing reports, calculations, and drawings
6. Completing Flood Risk Appraisals, providing practical risk mitigation, recommendations, and advice
7. Line managing colleagues and supporting their professional growth
