Job Description

My client, a large, accomplished Multidisciplinary Consultancy, is currently searching for a Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their team of expert engineers based in the bustling city of Leeds.

Essential Criteria:

1. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geography or a similar discipline (or the equivalent relevant experience)
2. Extensive experience within flood risk and drainage, including experience with design guidance considering relevant laws and regulations
3. Demonstrable project management experience
4. Experience liaising with a range of clients across the sector, with strong commercial awareness
5. Good working knowledge of software packages, including MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, QGIS (and other GIS software)

Desirable Attributes:

• Chartered Membership of a Professional Body (or actively working toward Chartered Status)
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with colleagues and stakeholders
• Strong prioritisation and time management skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Managing all project phases from inception to completion
• Preparation of tenders and proposals, utilizing technical and commercial expertise
• Overseeing and completing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Scoping Reports, and Drainage Strategies
• Collaborating with the team to produce conceptual drainage designs, including SuDS techniques, and creating drainage plans
• Reviewing reports, calculations, and drawings
• Conducting Flood Risk Appraisals, providing risk mitigation, recommendations, and commercial advice
• Line managing and mentoring team members
