Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Fire Engineer to manage multiple projects across the UK, from universities to high-rise towers, ensuring fire safety while enabling innovative architecture. You will coordinate with Facades, Acoustics and Structures, present to authorities, and guide design improvements for safety.

The role includes progression toward chartered status via a bespoke development programme, with senior leadership support and training in technical reporting and project management.

Qualifications

• BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in fire engineering consulting industry.
• Role can be based from UK major offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and ensure fire safety compliance across projects.
• Liaise with Facades, Acoustics and Structures disciplines.
• Present designs to local authorities and Fire Service.
• Support team toward chartered status through development programmes.
