R3's Professional Services team works to bring Corda specialist expertise to our customers to make their adoption successful. We engage directly with our customers to design, build, deploy and advise them on their Corda journey to ensure long-term capabilities are sustained. Through business consulting, technical solutions and implementation, we help customers achieve their goals most effectively for their business, owning projects ranging from small design POCs to full-end to end implementations for Digital Currencies and Digital Assets real-world problems. Our customer-centric and innovative approach to providing services and solutions in the industry allows us to strategically assess our customer's needs and ensure they are set up for success from the beginning of their journey. In addition to working directly with our customers, we strive to collaborate internally with our Sales, Engineering and Product organisations to provide better tooling, services and products based on our customer's evolving needs.

Your mission as a Professional Services Principal Architect is to oversee and ensure the technical excellence of our customer solutions built on R3’s distributed ledger platform (Corda Enterprise) and our Digital Currency and Digital Asset Product line. This role combines hands-on, architecture craftsmanship and advisory role depending on the client set covered.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Create high-level enterprise diagrams for Customer Solutions using our internal products, covering aspects such as architecture, cloud, infrastructure, front-end, backend, and deployments.
2. Lead technical design workshops with customers or internal groups to maintain competitor advantage on quality of products developed using R3 solutions.
3. Understand customer sectors and lead and manage a program to generate design templates using R3 products.
4. Review target product and infrastructure architecture and lead design documents to support successful build phases within project timelines.
5. Provide technical vision and leadership in the development of solutions with in-house, partner or customer development teams using Java/Kotlin and R3 incumbent technologies.
6. Train and mentor internal and external groups on advanced or in research DLT/blockchain topics.
7. Advise customers in their journey to production on infosec, non-functional requirements, performance testing and disaster recovery.
8. Manage technical blockers and production issue management.

Your Skills & Experience:

1. Full understanding of end to end process across solution streams.
2. Management of all technological risks.
3. Expertise in security and infrastructure design.
4. Prior work experience in a consulting/architecture position within a software and/or professional services company.
5. Proven experience leading senior technical design discussions.
6. High levels of proficiency in software development tasks using Java or a JVM-based language.
7. High level of proficiency in cloud-native deployment designing, provisioning and orchestration.
8. Technical aptitude and experience to learn advanced or in research technology solutions.
9. Experience managing multiple business and technical stakeholder groups on project delivery or production incidents.
10. Experience in finance sectors such as financial market infrastructure, buy or sell side financial services is advantageous.
11. Breadth of knowledge in technical and business workings.
