Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers is recruiting for Principal Engineers to support a Submarine Programme. The role is predominantly remote/hybrid with occasional site travel, focusing on Stage 2 Training Needs Analysis (TNA) per DSAT/JSP 822.

You will work with engineering, programme and customer stakeholders to analyse training requirements and produce clear documentation and recommendations. Candidates with defence or military experience, strong report writing, and stakeholder management

Job description

Were currently recruiting 5 Principal Engineers Support Engineering (Training Services) to support a Submarine Programme.

This is a predominantly remote/hybrid position, with occasional travel to site as required by the programme.

The role will focus primarily on conducting Stage 2 Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and JSP 822. You'll work with engineering, programme, and customer stakeholders to analyse training requirements and produce clear, structured documentation and recommendations in support of the programme.

They are particularly interested in candidates with:

• Conducting Stage 2 Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
• Strong working knowledge of DSAT and JSP 822
• Defence or Military environment would be highly desirable
• Strong technical/report writing skills
• Stakeholder management and customer engagement
• Competent use of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Previous submarine or maritime would be beneficial but is not essential

This could suit someone from a Training Needs Analysis, Training Design, Training Systems, Defence Training, Training Engineering or Support Engineering background who has hands‑on knowledge applying the DSAT methodology. The key requirement is practical knowledge of conducting Stage 2 TNA in accordance with DSAT/JSP 822.
