Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Marine Engineering Submarine Specialist (MESM) to support DSAT courseware and media development by gathering and applying technical data. The MESM will have the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours to access and contextualise data for training solutions.

Responsibilities include data analysis, collaboration with SMEs, and ensuring correct training language and standards, while maintaining DSAT documentation.

Qualifications

  • Proven at sea experience as a Cat A Nuclear watchkeeper.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse, design, maintain, review and produce DSAT documentation and processes.
  • Interview subject matter experts to collate required data and participate in internal workshops.
  • Work with the customer and suppliers to identify technical data required for courseware development.
  • Collaborate with courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and ensure correct conditions and standards.
  • Conduct upkeep, update and revalidation of course technical data.
  • Identify opportunities to reuse training methods and media to improve programme courseware.
  • Champion Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.

Role & Responsibilities

The Marine Engineering Submarine (MESM) subject matter expert (SME) is responsible for gathering the technical data to support the courseware & media development programme. The MESM SME will have suitable Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour and will understand the technical data required, the sources of that data and how to access that data.

The Requirements Team SMEs will work with the Courseware and Media Teams to identify technical data requirements for the development of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) courseware and media. Having identified the data requirements, the Requirements Team SME will work with the courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and language and ensure correct conditions and standards are applied to the training solution.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of the wider team responsible for the analysis, design, maintenance, review and production of DSAT Documentation & processes for our Customer’s training sites and organisations.
  • Interviewing subject matter experts to collate required data, participate in internal workshops to discuss and agree findings from analysis.
  • Work with the customer and the customer’s agents and suppliers to identify technical data required for courseware and media development and also external routes to obtain the data.
  • Work with the courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and language and ensure correct conditions and standards are applied to the training solution.
  • Conduct the upkeep, update and revalidation of course technical data.
  • Identify where training methods and media currently in use in the Customer may be exploited to better develop and deliver the Programme’s courseware.
  • Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’.
  • Any other duties required to complete the CMDC Training Service.
Required Experience
  • Proven at sea experience as a Cat A Nuclear watchkeeper.
Desirable experience
  • PWR 2.
  • Electrical Background.
  • Fwd ME duties.
  • Training requirements, design or delivery.
  • Member of a Boat Build Crew
  • DE&S/SDA.
