Job summary

Electus Recruitment Solutions is seeking a permanent principal-level embedded software engineer to own the design and delivery of complex defence systems, setting engineering standards and expanding technical influence.

You will lead embedded software and firmware across architectures, shape verification strategies, mentor engineers, and drive collaboration across software, firmware and hardware teams in a hybrid Winfrith environment.

Qualifications

• British nationality.
• Extensive embedded C/C++ development experience.
• Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, SoC platforms and FPGA.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving technical capability across a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software and firmware development across complex defence systems.
• Shape engineering processes, architectures and verification strategies.
• Guide technical delivery from requirements through design, integration and release.
• Support stronger collaboration across software, firmware and hardware engineering.
