Overview

Embedded Software Consultant – Defence – Cambridge

A growing and technologically intriguing Defence company, based in Cambridge, is seeking experienced Embedded Software Consultants or Engineers to assist in the development of newly invented technologies that will enhance the defence and safety of the UK.

Your Embedded Software experience should be specifically in Embedded C. Ideally, you will have experience in the Defence sector; however, we are open to candidates from other complex sectors. It will be essential that you could obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop embedded software primarily in Embedded C for defence-related technologies.
  • Collaborate in a multi-discipline team that includes mechanical, software, electronics engineers, physicists and other professionals.
  • Contribute to prototyping and use of software tools such as C, C++, MATLAB or other relevant languages.
  • Engage in the development lifecycle to deliver robust, reliable embedded systems.
  • Assist in obtaining security clearance where required.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Embedded C; knowledge of prototyping and software languages such as C, C++, MATLAB is highly advantageous.
  • Degree in software or electronics, or another field that leads to an Embedded Software Engineer role.
  • Open to candidates at various levels of experience, from 1–2 years to more senior roles; level of responsibility will depend on experience and skills.
  • Willingness to work in a defence-related environment and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
