Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer (Building Services) to join our UK buildings team across Birmingham, London or Manchester. You will lead multidisciplinary projects, mentor engineers, and manage delivery to time, cost and quality targets.

You will own planning, client communications and technical excellence, guiding junior staff and contributing to recruitment, budgeting and policy development within a supportive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech and building regulation compliance assessments.
• MCIBSE / MIET C Eng accreditation (or actively working towards it).
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations.
• Experience in sustainable technology integration.
• Proven project leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent technical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the functional delivery of multidisciplinary projects to time, cost and quality.
• Mentor and develop staff, support resource planning and continuous improvement.
• Own and guide planning, task prioritisation, calculations and outputs.
• Represent Jacobs in client meetings and help win future work.
