Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer (Building Services) to lead the delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects across the UK. You’ll mentor engineers, manage scope, cost and quality, and guide teams from planning through to completion while maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven relevant project design experience in building services electrical engineering.
• Degree in Building Services Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech and building regulation compliance assessments.
• MCIBSE / MIET CEng accreditation (or actively working towards it).
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations.
• Experience in sustainable technology integration.
• Proven project leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent technical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the functional delivery of multidisciplinary projects, ensuring scope, time, cost and quality expectations are met.
• Mentor staff, support team development, resource planning and continuous improvement.
• Own your work and guide others from planning to execution, checking calculations and outputs.
• Represent Jacobs in client meetings and help win future work.
• Take responsibility for recruitment, budgeting and policy development.
