Iron Mountain Incorporated is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead power infrastructure across new site developments, refresh projects and operations. You will establish standard designs and govern mission-critical architectures to ensure platform resilience.

You will bridge high-level engineering strategy with operational delivery, shaping scalable energy solutions while protecting customers' vital digital assets.

Formación

• Significant experience leading major electrical engineering initiatives in data center or mission-critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of utility strategy and distribution (HV/MV/LV), generation, UPS, energy storage, and codes.
• Proven ability to set global technical direction, governance, and risk management.
• Excellent engineering judgment and ability to communicate complex decisions to executives.
• University degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; PE license preferred.

Iron Mountain is seeking a strategic Principal Electrical Engineer - to join our Data Center Design & Engineering team.

As our premier technical authority for power infrastructure across new site developments, refresh projects and operations, you will establish standard designs and govern mission-critical architectures that guarantee platform resilience. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of our scalable energy solutions, bridging high-level engineering strategy with complex operational delivery to protect our customers' most vital digital assets.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

In this role, you will:

• Set technical direction for utility, distribution, standby generation, UPS, energy-storage, earthing, and power-quality systems across the data center platform.

• Govern standard designs, technical specifications, basis-of-design requirements, and discipline assurance frameworks.

• Act as the final technical authority for high-impact electrical decisions, precedent-setting design deviations, and platform risks.

• Manage systemic engineering risks across sites and advise executive leadership on long‑term power strategy, operational risk, and technology trade‑offs.

• Sponsor research into emerging architectures and serve as the senior discipline partner to Supply Chain for owner‑furnished equipment.

What You’ll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate will have:

• Typically 15+ years of relevant experience leading major electrical engineering initiatives across data center or mission‑critical platforms.

• Strong knowledge of utility strategy, HV/MV/LV distribution, generation, UPS, energy storage, power quality, and global electrical codes.

• Proven ability in setting global technical direction, establishing governance frameworks, and managing systemic engineering risk.

• Exceptional engineering judgment and communication skills to frame complex technical decisions for executive and customer stakeholders.

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; professional engineering license preferred.
