Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking a Principal EDA/CAD Engineer to provide technical leadership for global engineering compute and design-data-management environments. You will lead on Linux-based CAD environments, Perforce/IPLM workflows and automation across distributed engineering teams.

The role combines hands-on CAD engineering with infrastructure strategy, documentation and training to scale design data management for semiconductor projects worldwide.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in EDA/CAD engineering or semiconductor design infrastructure.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge.
• Experience with Perforce Helix or comparable enterprise version‑control/data‑management technologies.
• Methodics IPLM or equivalent IP lifecycle‑management experience.
• Strong Python and/or shell scripting skills.
• Experience with semiconductor EDA workflows.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root‑cause‑analysis skills.
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for engineering compute infrastructure and CAD environments.
• Support development of Linux-based engineering environments and define compute/storage requirements.
• Work with IT and engineering teams to ensure infrastructure meets design requirements.
• Lead migration and consolidation of legacy environments and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Provide ownership for Perforce Helix and IPLM-based data-management methodologies and integration with EDA tools.
• Develop automation for engineering environments and data-management workflows.
• Create reusable project/workspace methodologies and onboarding processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides and best practices.
