Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks a Principal EDA/CAD Engineer to provide technical leadership for global engineering compute and CAD infrastructure. You will help design Linux compute environments, workspace provisioning, license infrastructure and automation, working with CAD, engineering and IT/IS teams worldwide.

The role focuses on scalable, reliable environments, project/workspace management, and continuous improvement of tooling, monitoring and deployment. Collaboration across sites is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in EDA/CAD infrastructure engineering within semiconductor development.
• Strong scripting and automation skills, preferably Python and shell.
• Experience with LSF or comparable distributed compute environments.
• Experience with Perforce Helix and IPLM or similar data-management systems.
• Experience with engineering project/workspace management.
• Understanding of compute, storage and network requirements for EDA environments.
• Experience with EDA licensing and FlexNet-based licensing environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Experience developing production-quality engineering automation.
• Ability to work across global engineering, CAD and IT/IS organizations.
• Strong technical documentation and knowledge-transfer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for global EDA compute infrastructure.
• Develop and support Linux-based engineering environments.
• Work with IT/IS on compute, storage, networking and server requirements.
• Support interactive and batch compute environments.
• Contribute to infrastructure capacity planning and technical roadmaps.
• Troubleshoot complex compute and engineering-environment problems.
• Develop automation to improve reliability and reduce manual administration.
