Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corporation in Swindon seeks a Principal EDA/CAD Engineer to provide technical leadership for global engineering compute and design-data-management environments. The role blends hands-on CAD work with infra, Perforce/IPLM-based data management, automation and training.

You will work with engineering and IT teams to develop scalable solutions for managing semiconductor design data across distributed teams, driving standardized practices and reusable workflows.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in EDA/CAD engineering and compute environments.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge and scripting (Python or shell).
• Experience with Perforce Helix and IPLM for design-data management.
• Experience with semiconductor EDA workflows and Cadence tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead compute infrastructure for engineering environments globally.
• Own Perforce/IPLM design-data management strategies.
• Define project/workspace configurations and Cadence setup.
• Develop automation to streamline environment provisioning.
• Migrate legacy data and environments to modern platforms.
• Create documentation and deliver training; support onboarding.
• Contribute to technical strategy and roadmaps.
