Job summary

MOO is seeking a Senior IC to lead architecture across the ecommerce order journey, partnering with Product, Platform and Engineering to deliver scalable, observable systems. You will set the architectural direction and enable multiple teams to move quickly and safely, leveraging AI-assisted development responsibly.

The role emphasizes governance, data coherence, and cross-time-zone collaboration, with travel to the East Providence facility a couple of times a year.

Qualifications

• Proven track record shaping architecture and delivery for complex ecommerce estates at scale.
• Expert at designing service and event contracts, data flows and reliability patterns.
• Experience scaling for peak trading and handling volume changes.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and responsible adoption.
• Ability to align Operations, Customer Service, Product and Engineering across time zones.
• Experience balancing migration with scaling in live systems.

Responsibilities

• Domain leadership and technical strategy across the whole order journey.
• Scale and reliability initiatives to handle peak trading and observability.
• AI-assisted development standards and guardrails with Security, Legal and Platform.
• Data and tooling coherence with standardized data pipelines and developer portal / Backstage.
• Governance, mentorship across the engineering department.
