Job summary

Moody's is seeking a Principal Software Engineer-AI to lead strategy, delivery, and evolution of mission-critical AI platforms and intelligent applications within the Digital Content and Innovation organization. You will own multi-year architecture and technology roadmaps for AI platforms and guide multiple engineering teams to measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience including leadership of multiple teams
• Experience leading engineering managers, technical leads, and staff-level engineers
• Strong depth in TypeScript, Python, C#, or similar technologies
• Deep expertise in enterprise AI applications built on large language models
• Hands-on experience building AI/ML applications and taking them to production
• Experience running AI systems in production at scale on AWS/Azure
• Cloud-native technologies, serverless, event-driven architectures, data/inference pipelines, and various databases
• Proven track record owning multi-year technical strategy and roadmaps
• Experience implementing advanced AI solutions with responsible AI governance

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, delivery, and evolution of mission-critical AI platforms and intelligent applications
• Define and execute long-term technical strategies and multi-year roadmaps for AI platforms
• Lead, grow, and organize multiple engineering teams with accountability for delivery
• Drive architectural decisions, AI-powered solutions, and integration of agentic workflows
• Establish engineering excellence through architecture reviews, automated testing, observability, and security standards
• Own budget planning and cloud infrastructure cost management
• Partner with product, risk, legal, compliance, and audit stakeholders for responsible AI governance
• Attract, develop, and retain engineering talent and leadership
• Define and report key metrics for platform adoption, delivery performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
