Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead automation, platform engineering and secure delivery across critical programmes. You will design, implement and continually improve CI/CD pipelines and IaC across regulated environments, mentoring teams and working closely with security, architecture and project teams.

A significant on-site presence at Bristol/Yeovil sites is expected with some flexible working where permissible.

Qualifications

• Extensive DevOps and platform engineering experience.
• Ability to lead design, implementation and improvement of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in secure, regulated environments (defence/government).

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for automation and platform engineering.
• Lead design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
• Develop secure deployment pipelines for controlled environments.
• Collaborate with Platform, Security and Project teams to automate infra and apps.
• Lead DevSecOps adoption and embed security controls in delivery lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership and reporting for work packages.
• Mentor engineers to raise capability across the organisation.
• Support feasibility studies and future capability planning.
