Job summary

On is seeking a Principal Data Scientist specializing in Personalization and Customer Algorithms to set the strategic direction for customer modeling across On. You will lead high-impact initiatives to architect, train, and deploy personalization models that deliver direct, measurable impact to our business and customers.

You will simplify complexity and partner with product and technology teams to build solutions for a global customer base.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in personalization engines, recommendation systems, and customer-level predictive models.
Experience with real-time model training, streaming data, and low-latency production deployment.
Proven track record translating business challenges into measurable, large-scale impact.
Strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration with product and tech teams, and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in Python and modern ML libraries; cloud environments (GCP/AWS).

Responsibilities

Define and lead vision for personalization and customer algorithms aligned with commercial goals.
Design, train, and deploy batch and real-time ML models in production.
Collaborate with Product Management and Tech Partnerships to solve core business problems.
Drive quantifiable business outcomes and customer value across touchpoints.
Establish standards for real-time training, MLOps, and QA metrics; mentor teams.
