Job summary

Personio is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to build the People Intelligence foundation and drive advanced analytics for the People Systems & Insights team.

You'll collaborate with People Partners, Reward, Talent Acquisition and senior leadership to move decisions from intuition to evidence, shaping product capabilities and governance around people data while exploring causal inference and experimental design.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data science or ML with 3+ years in people analytics
• Expertise in causal inference, survival analysis, and predictive modelling
• Strong Python, SQL; comfortable with dbt and modern data stack tooling
• Track record translating model outputs into business decisions
• Experience designing data models and semantic layers
• Excellent communication skills for executive audiences

Responsibilities

• Design and own the strategy and measurement framework for disciplined people analytics
• Partner with Data Engineering to ensure clean, documented pipelines with tooling like DBT and Snowflake
• Establish data quality standards and monitoring for people data
• Build and iterate on predictive models across attrition, productivity, equity, engagement, and planning
• Develop explanatory frameworks and analytical narratives for stakeholders
• Collaborate on the architecture of a multi-agent People Agent system
• Lead structured insight discovery sessions with executive stakeholders
• Mentor junior analysts and data engineers on people data modelling and applied ML
