Job summary
Leonardo UK is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to lead secure, scalable data solutions across hybrid and cloud environments. You will guide engineering teams through the full data lifecycle, shaping data strategy and capability across programmes.
In this role you will mentor junior engineers, engage with stakeholders, and drive delivery plans while collaborating with DevOps, Data Scientists and Analysts. The position combines technical leadership with people management in a flexible hybrid
Qualifications
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Experience with ETL flows, data pipelines, and orchestration tools.
- Understanding of database architecture (SQL and NoSQL).
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for data engineering delivery.
- Lead end-to-end data solutions: acquisition, integration, storage, processing, and analysis.
- Implement scalable data solutions using big data architectures and workflow management systems.
- Mentor and coach junior data engineers.
- Engage with stakeholders and present technical solutions.
