Job summary

Leonardo Bristol is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and optimize secure data platforms across hybrid environments. You will own data pipelines, work with SQL Server and cloud services, and mentor junior engineers to deliver scalable data solutions for defence, government and commercial customers.

The role blends on-site and remote work, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in data engineering and ownership of deliverables.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with data pipeline experience.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and large databases.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and data security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, admin and optimize SQL Server databases for performance and security.
• Troubleshoot issues in development and production environments.
• Support data platform automation and ML model deployment.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Data Scientists and Analysts.
• Lead small work packages and mentor junior engineers.
