Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Chartered Principal Electrical Engineer for data centre projects in the UK. You will lead electrical design across high‑security facilities, guiding multi‑disciplinary teams and coordinating with clients, project managers and contractors.

The role requires strong data centre design exposure, mastery of ETAP, Relux/Dialux, MS Project, AutoCAD and Revit, and willingness to travel including international assignments. Hybrid work model supported.

Qualifications

• Chartered electrical engineer with data centre design experience.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on electrical scope.
• Proficient with ETAP, Relux/Dialux, MS Project, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Willing to travel and undertake international assignments.

Responsibilities

• Project planning and management.
• Provide technical input to studies and design for staff's area of expertise.
• Preparation of contract documentation and specifications.
• Estimating and cost control on projects.
• Manage workload and meet deadlines on tasks assigned.
• Mentoring and development of junior and intermediate engineers.
• Present technical solutions to clients and peers.
• Participate in development of technical proposals.
• Attend design team and coordination meetings where required.
• Attend site inspection meetings where required.
• Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors and other design team members.
