Job summary

Shell seeks a Principal Architect for Trading & Supply Data & Analytics to define and govern architecture enabling data-powered outcomes. You will lead the design of an integrated data ecosystem, balancing innovation with governance and scalability to deliver trusted, AI-ready data consumption at scale.

You will guide architecture direction, roadmaps, and standards across domains, driving reuse and reducing technical debt while collaborating with data, digital and technology teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Extensive IT experience, including senior architecture leadership roles.
• Experience across large-scale, complex, multi-domain technology environments.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide architecture transformation and strategic technology initiatives.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the trading business domain; commodity trading knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides architecture leadership that aligns business strategy, enterprise architecture, and technology investments.
• Accountable for enterprise architecture direction and outcomes across domains and transformation landscapes, ensuring value, coherence, resilience, security, and scalability.
• Translates business strategy into target architecture, roadmaps, standards and guardrails across process, data, integration, technology, cloud and security.
• Ensures cross-domain architecture coherence and resolves conflicts between domain strategies and roadmaps.
• Acts as enterprise decision authority for significant trade-offs and deviations from guardrails.
• Represents architecture in executive governance forums and provides trusted advice to CIOs and leaders.
• Shapes portfolio and technology investment decisions to align with target architecture and enterprise value.
• Drives adoption of standards, reusable patterns, reference architectures and services across domains.
