The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Principal Consultant to join our Sustainability Consulting team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering advisory programs for our global client base, operating as a subject matter expert in delivery and innovation. This role offers the opportunity to build strong client relationships and shape sustainability strategies for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, while helping to grow the Incendium team. Our business is agile, with our core team based in London, complemented by offices in New York and Chicago, and a mix of remote work and on-site client engagements.

Responsibilities
  1. Establish strong, trust-based relationships with clients, acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor.
  2. Lead key client instructions, supporting the development and implementation of sustainability strategies across various organizations and sectors, ensuring deliverables are within scope, budget, and timelines.
  3. Collaborate with clients to develop ambitions, targets, and strategic roadmaps aligned with their business objectives.
  4. Design and support the implementation of strategic organizational changes, addressing business processes, stakeholder engagement, and governance.
  5. Oversee strategic data insights and reporting, aligning with frameworks such as SBTi, CDP, and TCFD.
  6. Support business growth by building client relationships, expanding our team, and promoting Incendium’s culture.
Candidate Profile

  • Experience in strategic sustainability within consulting or client-side, with a focus on integrating sustainability into business strategies
  • Experience in real estate consulting is advantageous for quick organizational alignment
  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and ensuring high-quality results
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging clients and fostering teamwork
  • Ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights
  • Bachelor’s degree in a sustainability-related field preferred; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Typically, at least 5 years of relevant experience, but experience and skills are valued over years alone
