The Principal Consultant will focus on leading and delivering custom consulting and research projects across the agriculture, forest products, metals, mining, and minerals industries. Responsibilities include providing tailored market overviews, outlooks, feasibility assessments, industry cost modeling, supply-chain mapping, and sourcing strategies.

You will join a dynamic global team dedicated to analyzing and forecasting markets in these sectors, leveraging Fastmarkets’ data, insights, and analyst team as part of our consulting services.

The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, innovative environment, possess a can-do attitude, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage a range of commodity-related market consultancy projects independently and collaboratively.
2. Ensure timely delivery of consultancy projects providing strategic, due diligence, and market/price forecasting services to global clients.
3. Oversee project deliverables ensuring robustness, accuracy, and thorough research, utilizing modeling, data collection, and interviews.
4. Develop and support sales strategies, build client relationships, and acquire new business, including managing the full sales cycle when needed.
5. Handle tenders and create customized pitch decks and offers using strong technical knowledge of commodity markets.
6. Maintain forecasting and CRM reporting; participate in marketing activities and utilize networks to generate opportunities and support delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of consulting experience in commodities research.
• Strong business development skills and experience managing client relationships across market sectors.
• Proven ability to conduct and research commodity market studies independently and in teams.
• Experience in complex solution selling and project management.
• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and willingness to travel.
• An established industry network is desirable.
• Self-motivated with a proactive, 'hunter' mentality and ability to multitask.
