Murphy is recruiting for a Principal Engineer to work with our Applied Engineering Team in our Warrington office. Lead civil/structural design for permanent works across the UK water infrastructure sector, integrating design and construction to deliver buildable, sustainable solutions.

Based from Warrington with possible collaboration across Stonecross, Cannock or Kentish Town offices, you will mentor staff, manage multiple projects, and contribute to lessons learned while supporting AMP8

Qualifications

• Designer with the ability to manage projects from design and cost perspectives.
• Experience of effective financial management and control of projects.
• Strong analysis and design skills with the ability to interpret design requirements and analyse complex structures.
• Open-minded approach to solving civil and structural engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Be Applied Engineering's single point of contact to multiple projects with management responsibility for project deliverables and costs.
• Representing the Applied Engineering team in collaborative project team meetings; carrying out civil/structural designs and acting as checker on other designs.
• Undertaking site visits when appropriate.
• Collating feedback on solutions and contributing to lessons learned meetings.
• Preparing fully integrated permanent works proposals/solutions to meet bid and project delivery stage requirements.
• Managing the design work of other staff members and external designers.
• Mentoring staff including graduates within Applied Engineering.
• Collaborating with other Principal Engineers in development and growth of the department.
