Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Principal Design Engineer to lead the Applied Engineering Team from our London office, delivering infrastructure projects across the UK. You will collaborate with project and site teams to develop practical, robust permanent and temporary works solutions.

You will mentor staff, manage design work and contribute to growth of the department, while maintaining a strong emphasis on project economics and client delivery. This is a high-responsibility leadership role within Murphy.

Qualifications

• HND/Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience designing and managing projects from design through cost perspectives.
• Chartered with ICE and/ or IStructE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as single point of contact for multiple projects with project deliverables and costs.
• Report to the Senior Engineering Manager.
• Carry out civil/structural designs and act as checker on other designs.
