Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited seeks a Principal Civil Structural Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary design delivery across energy, defence, and nuclear projects in the UK. You will oversee a team, ensure design quality, and drive technical excellence in concrete, steel, and foundations while coordinating with clients and international teams.

The role offers hybrid working and opportunities to work on landmark projects like Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C within the D&AT Practice, supporting career

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer.
• Experience coordinating or managing a Civil Structural design delivery team within a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and industry best practices (CDM).
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Proficiency in analytical software and related tools (Tekla, Robot, STAAD).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate or manage a team of Civil Structural engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
• Produce and review technical deliverables (design reports, drawings, calculations, scopes).
• Provide technical input into project design deliverables and manage time/budgets to milestones.
• Collaborate with clients and AtkinsRéalis teams.
• Mentor less experienced colleagues and grow team capabilities.
• Provide technical support for bid proposals.
• Work with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
