Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Birmingham is seeking a senior Bridge Engineer to lead and review bridge design, and to supervise a team of engineers on diverse rail and highways projects.

You will contribute to feasibility studies, prepare specifications and CPD documentation, and collaborate across civil and structural disciplines. The role requires Chartered status (CEng/MICE or MIStructE), experience with Eurocodes, FE analysis tools, and strong client communication skills while managing costs and

Qualifications

• Professional qualification and membership with ICE/MICE or MIStructE.
• Experience in bridge design, maintenance and assessment.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and sector standards.
• Experience with finite element analysis software.
• Ability to manage costs and deliver reports.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills.
• Experience leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review bridge design.
• Lead and review bridge strengthening and repair, inspections and assessments.
• Provide general civil and structural engineering support to other teams.
• Conduct feasibility studies and options appraisals.
• Prepare and review specifications, reports and health and safety risk assessments.
• Prepare/review CDM documentation, e.g. Pre-Construction Information Pack.
• Review design drawings and prepare fee estimates.
• Supervise junior members of the team.
