Job summary

Amey Consulting is seeking a permanent Principal Architect to lead technical teams across multiple regional offices in the UK. The role combines technical leadership with people management, guiding projects from concept to completion and ensuring quality, cost, and programme adherence.

Applicants should be ARB registered, Chartered with RIBA, and proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and BIM. Rail or light rail sector experience is desirable, with flexible/ hybrid work patterns available.

Qualifications

ARB registration required.
Chartered member of RIBA preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and BIM.
Familiarity with contract forms and conditions.
Knowledge of Building Regulations, planning and safety.
Contract administration experience.

Responsibilities

Provide multi-discipline leadership and coordination on projects through all RIBA stages.
Take ownership of and manage tasks from conception to completion.
Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for scheme deliverables.
Ensure governance processes are followed and contribute to technical assurance.
Manage project budgets and costs associated with deliverables.
Compile, communicate and present regular project portfolio updates.
