Job summary

Elsevier’s LeapSpace is seeking a Principal Product Manager to own the agentic retrieval and orchestration engine that underpins our AI‑assisted research workspace. You will guide strategy, sequencing, and cross‑team collaboration across data science, engineering, and UX to drive production‑ready capabilities.

You will lead staged migrations from prototype to production, ensuring clear acceptance criteria and scalable platform growth, while collaborating with multiple squads and partner teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and shipping complex AI or data‑intensive products with ownership of strategy, trade‑offs and delivery.
• At least three consecutive years at one employer.
• Deep expertise in generative AI products, including retrieval‑augmented generation and agentic workflows.
• Proven ability to drive product strategy and execution across multiple engineering organisations.
• Strong go‑to‑market experience.
• Data‑driven evaluation with hypothesis testing and experimentation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for agentic retrieval and orchestration.
• Make sequencing calls that span teams and manage dependencies across squads.
• Lead migration of engine capabilities from prototype to production with staged releases.
• Translate prototype behaviour into engineering‑ready tickets with clear acceptance criteria.
• Keep teams informed ahead of change; align engineering, UX, design and data science.
• Gather requests into the engine backlog and consolidate into platform capabilities.
• Anticipate demand from the roadmap and position the engine accordingly.
• Expand LeapSpace’s surface area by growing tools and skills for customers.
• Collaborate with partner teams across Elsevier on cross‑product capabilities.
