Elsevier in London seeks a Data Scientist III to design, build, and evaluate advanced AI capabilities for LeapSpace and the Search & AI Platform. You will work with senior data scientists, engineers, product managers, and domain experts to translate cutting-edge AI into production features for researchers worldwide.

The role centers on applied AI, retrieval, evaluation, and scalable AI workflows, with opportunities to work on LangGraph, RAG, and semantic search.

Formación

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, ML, NLP, Information Retrieval, or a related field.
• Experience in data science, machine learning, applied NLP, information retrieval, generative AI, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based applications, RAG pipelines, and search/retrieval architectures.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and tooling (PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, LangGraph, Haystack).
• Experience with Databricks or similar distributed data platforms.
• Understanding of experimentation methodologies and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn).
• Ability to independently execute technical projects and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsabilidades

• Design and improve LLM-based research workflows (QA, literature summarization, semantic discovery).
• Develop and optimize search, retrieval, and RAG pipelines with lexical/vector/hybrid approaches.
• Create and evaluate AI models, build evaluation datasets and run offline/online experiments.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to deploy AI-powered capabilities.
